Created in the 1890s by Carrington & Co., Regent Street, London, this English crescent moon brooch is composed of rubies, diamonds and a pearl. The brooch is designed as a tapering circular crescent moon of graduating old mine-cut diamonds edged by cushion-shape rubies, centering a pearl and diamond star motif, crossed by a knife edge bar with ruby and diamond terminals. A favorite motif with eternal charm, this star and crescent brooch offers a celestial touch of vivid color and brilliance.
