This stunning pair of earrings was hand crafted by the esteemed French jewelry atelier, La Triomphe, circa 1970. They feature oval forms of lapis lazuli circumscribed by textured 18k yellow gold resembling tendrils of elkhorn coral that ensconce the central stone. A band of luminous brilliant cuts across the center of each lapis. The oval stone attaches to a demilune form full of diamonds and ultimately culminates in an orbital lapis stone. The lapis is wrapped in tendrils of 18kt yellow, which again recalls the coral especially paired when set against the oceanic hue of the lapis. This elegant brutalist necklace represents French Mid Century Modern jewelry design at its finest. It would be equally appropriate worn with jeans and a t shirt or a formal evening gown. It is marked 18kt. Each earring offers six full cut brilliant diamonds. Excellent condition. 8 grams total. Pierced. These earrings also have a matching necklace.
