Gold, enamel, steel
Replaced glass bezel
2” diameter
An 18K gold watch with an enamel face, Arabic numerals and a blue enamel and gilt border. The stem also has polychrome enameling. Makers mark for Bordeaux, circa 1819 but has yet to be identified. The reverse has a fine portrait of George Washington in his General’s uniform based on an 1818 portrait by Rembrandt Peale for Colonel Tilghman, now at Morristown National Historic Park. Key wound fusee movement. -
