Rare Editioned Bronze Hand and Feet Chair by Pedro Friedeberg
-
Description
The “Hand Chair” is the most seminal design work by Pedro Friedeberg and one of the icons of 20th century design. With its whimsical conception rooted in the realm of surrealism combined with a personal interpretation of Mexican folklore tradition, it stirs imagination of the viewer. Designed in 1998, this example is cast in bronze in an edition of nine (four out of nine). Bronze version is not common and this version is especially rare as the chair is rendered as double open palm and a three-leg configuration.
The piece is constructed in two connected piece with "Pedro Friedeberg" signature etched on one of the legs. Provenance available. -
