Lisa Johansson-Pape was a Finnish designer who worked primarily in the field of lighting design during the mid-20th century. She is considered one of the most important female designers in Finland and played a significant role in shaping the country's design culture during the post-war era.
 
Johansson-Pape was born in Helsinki in 1907 and studied at the Central School of Industrial Design in Helsinki. She began her career as a designer in the 1930s and quickly gained recognition for her elegant and minimalist designs, which were often inspired by natural forms and Scandinavian design principles.
 
Johansson-Pape is perhaps best known for her lighting designs, which were characterized by their simple, organic shapes and use of high-quality materials such as brass, glass, and wood. Some of her most famous designs include the "Kuplat" pendant light, which features a series of delicate glass bubbles, and the "Pilvi" table lamp, which features a sculptural wooden base and a simple, white glass shade.
 
In addition to her work as a designer, Johansson-Pape was also a strong advocate for women's rights and equality in the design industry. She was a founding member of the Finnish Association of Designers (now known as Ornamo) and worked to promote the role of women in design and other creative fields.
 
Johansson-Pape's designs continue to be highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts today, and can be found in museums and galleries around the world. Her legacy as a pioneer in Finnish design and a champion of women's rights continues to inspire designers and artists to this day.
