The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market opened on Tuesday, January 12, kicking off the highly anticipated winter market season. Held at AmericasMart, a four-building complex spanning seven million square feet in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the comprehensive market boasts sixteen floors brimming with design-focused furniture, lighting, home accents and decor, rugs and much more.

The largest of AmericasMart’s fourteen annual markets and shows, the 2016 Atlanta Market gives buyers and designers an exclusive look at collections from over 7,300 international brands. In addition to the trove of stylish and cutting-edge goods showcased at the event, the market presents a comprehensive program of educational lectures, trend presentations and designer talks. Must-see happenings include the global premiere presentation of the PANTONE® Color of the Year 2016, which features vignettes highlighting the year’s hottest hues, Rose Quartz and Serenity, by Robert Leleux, Shaun Smith, Jamie Durie, Heather Hogan Roberts, Janie Hirsch, Michael Habachy, Kristin Alber, Michel Boyd, Tami Ramsay and Krista Nye Schwartz of CLOTH & KIND.

An interior by Atlanta-based designer Beth Webb, who will participate in the "Southern Style Icons: A Conversation with the Region's Most Beloved Interiors Designers" on Thursday, January 14.

On Thursday, January 14, design luminaries Gerrie Bremermann, Michelle Nussbaumer, Shaun Smith, Beth Webb and Brian Patrick Flynn, will participate in  the panel “Southern Style Icons: A Conversation with the Region’s Most Beloved Interior Designers.” During the discussion, which will be moderated by Robert Leleux, Editor-in-Chief of Domino Magazine and author of Southern Style Now, the acclaimed tastemakers who embody the warm and sophisticated spirit of the south, will share the defining moments that helped shape their careers, advice for designers developing their own unique brand and the importance of finding a mentor in an industry that’s always changing but where collaboration is universal.

An interior by Barclay Butera, who will participate in the panel discussion "Behind the Design: Business Insights from Today's Brightest Talents" on Friday, January 15.

On Friday, January 15, fresh and innovative designers Barclay Butera, Young Huh, Krista Nye Schwartz and Tami Ramsay will come together for the panel discussion “Behind the Design: Business Insights from Today’s Brightest Talents” moderated by Luxe Interiors + Design Executive Editor Arlyn Hernandez. The designers, who are known for their stunning interiors as well as their strong business acumen, will discuss growing their own firms, handling today's savvy clients, and navigating the demanding media and publishing landscape.

An interior by the New Orleans-based designer Shaun Smith, who has created a vignette for the PANTONE® Color of the Year 2016 presentation. Smith will also participate in “Southern Style Icons: A Conversation with the Region’s Most Beloved Interiors Designers.”

Last but not least, we recommend sitting in on the discussion At Home with Susanna Salk and Stacey Bewkes of Quintessence on Saturday, January 16. Bewkes, who helms the acclaimed art and design blog Quintessence, and Salk, a design author and stylist, will discuss their “At Home With” video series. The popular series has taken them inside extraordinary residences belonging to design icons and international tastemakers in Los Angeles, New York City, Paris and beyond.
