You are viewing a WWII Campaign desk that would have been used in the European and Pacific theater during the war. The desk is made from the same aluminum that was used for aircraft in the 1930s-1940s. The desk first started out with army green gov't issued paint. The desk was hand stripped and a semi flat black powder coating applied. The black powder coating accentuates the clean lines. If I didn't mention it was a USA WWII desk, you can mistake it for a French design from some of the masters of metal creations like Prouve. Please take note of the legs, back of desk and the simplicity of the overall design.
It is a marvel of engineering as well; being that it can fold-up into a box like formation. The powder coating is additionally very durable. Not prone to chipping or fading. The lines and rivets or tack marks are amazing on the piece as well and will be a focal point in any home.
