Cast in Bronze, this Avalokitesvara Statue is from Thailand with conspicuous influence from neighboring Khmer culture in nowadays Cambodia, where Hinduism and Buddhism confluent. Avalokitesvara is one of the most revered Bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. His equivalence in Chinese culture is Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin.

This heavy bronze cast feature the goddess in her Four limbs four with each hands in a "teaching mudra". The Bodhisattva is dressed in a simple short dhoti, a clear influence from Cambodia, yet it still features an elaborate hair crown with Buddha in the center.

Condition:	Very heavy, dark deep patina bellowed by age. Some age wear and possible chips from the eye, which may be set with precious jewels in its original form.
