Gianfranco Frattini

Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) was an Italian architect and designer. He is known for his work in furniture and interior design, as well as for his contributions to architecture. Frattini was born in Padua, Italy, and studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. He started his career working for architects such as Gio Ponti and Carlo De Carli, before opening his own design studio in 1956.
 
Frattini designed furniture for a number of well-known Italian manufacturers, including Cassina, Bernini, and Artemide. His furniture designs are known for their clean lines, attention to detail, and use of high-quality materials. Some of his most iconic designs include the "Clio" armchair, the "Modulo" sofa, and the "Luminator" floor lamp.
 
In addition to his work in furniture design, Frattini also designed interiors for a number of public and private spaces. He was particularly known for his work in the hospitality industry, having designed interiors for hotels and restaurants in Italy and abroad.
 
Frattini received a number of awards and honors throughout his career, including the Compasso d'Oro award in 1956 and 1960, and the Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum in 1958 and 1960.
