Born in Venice in 1912, Gino Sarfatti was an Italian lighting designer and the founder of Arteluce. Sarfatti founded Arteluce in 1939 in Milan. Following a series of business challenges in Italy, Sarfatti traveled to the United States in 1950. In 1953, the Arteluce shop was refurbished by Marco Zanuso-becoming the center of international attention. In 1973 Sarfatti sold Arteluce to Flos and he retired to his home in Griante on Lake Como. Sarfatti died in 1985. Gino Sarfatti chandeliers lamps & lighting remain popular worldwide.
