Carl Bergsten

Carl Bergsten was a Swedish furniture designer and architect who lived from 1879 to 1935. He is known for his contributions to the Swedish Art Nouveau movement, also known as the Swedish Grace style, which emphasized organic forms and natural materials.
Bergsten studied at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and later worked for the renowned architect Ferdinand Boberg. He also traveled to Paris to study Art Nouveau design and was influenced by the work of French designer Hector Guimard.
Bergsten's furniture designs were characterized by their flowing lines, curved shapes, and use of materials such as birch and mahogany. He also incorporated decorative elements such as marquetry and carving into his designs.
Bergsten's work was exhibited at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1909 and the Paris Exhibition in 1925, and he received several awards for his designs. Today, his furniture pieces are held in the collections of major museums in Sweden and around the world
