Description
A highly decorative pair of Spode miniature or child's toy candlestick's, the dark blue ground with intricate gilt spiralling decoration and brightly painted garden flowers. Marked underneath 'Spode 2478 '
The pattern number dates to 1816-20, and the shape to a beaded edge candlestick.
They have the identical pattern numbers but differ very slightly in form and height of decoration, demonstrating the uniqueness of Spode's wares of this time. -
