Japanese Two Panel Screen: Yagyu (Wild Ox), by Morito Kunitsugu, 1958.
This was exhibited at the 1st newly reorganized Nitten National Exhibition in 1958, and is visible in the catalogue for that year.
Morito Kunitsugu (1904-1991) was born in Tokyo, and studied at the Kyoto Municipal E-Senmon Gakko (Mod University of Art). He worked in the circle of Yamaguchi Hoshun, and was often exhibited, both pre and post war, with the Teiten/Nitten national exhibitions where he was awarded the Hakujusho prize in 1946. He traveled in both America and Europe, exhibiting there as well. - More Information
