Bo Fajans is a contemporary ceramic artist known for his distinctive sculptural vessels and objects. He was born in Sweden in 1978 and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001, followed by a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007.
Fajans' work is characterized by its organic forms, intricate textures, and striking use of color. He often employs a variety of techniques and materials, including wheel-throwing, hand-building, glazing, and firing methods that result in unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Fajans has exhibited his work widely in the United States and internationally, and his pieces are held in the collections of several major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including a Fulbright Fellowship to study ceramics in Japan in 2008.
