Weathervane Duesenberg Phaeton Automobile Car
-
Description
A rare and large weathervane of a Duesenberg automobile. Duesenberg Motors company was was founded in 1913 by Frederick Duesenberg and was a manufacturer of race cars and luxury automobiles. With the market for luxury cars curtailed by the Depression, Duesenberg folded in 1937. Today a Duesenberg Phaeton sell in the millions of dollars. We do not know the maker of this weather vane but believe it to be a one of a kind example. It is made from copper and it is in aged original condition, with dark patina and some minor dents. See photographs for detailed condition. Mounted on a painted black steel base. The second passenger windshield is missing, but could be re-made by a metal restorer, but we prefer to leave it in the as found condition. It is a wonderful decorative piece for the collector of rare automobiles.
