Chuck Berry (1926-2017) was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and was one of the first musicians to combine elements of blues and country into what became known as rock and roll. His most famous songs include “Johnny B. Goode,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” “Maybellene,” and “Sweet Little Sixteen.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and is often cited as one of the most influential musicians of all time.
