Edward Wormley Sideboard Model 671 A for Dunbar Custom Order 1953
-
Description
An Edward Wormley walnut and Japanese fir sideboard , model 671A for Dunbar, circa 1953.
A rare exquisite Japanese inspired walnut cabinet with two drawers with cast bronze pulls and featuring four sliding walnut doors with inset panels of oil drop foil. This was a custom option from Dunbar and is rare.
The oil drop foil insets resemble Laverne's handmade wallpaper and may have been sourced by Dunbar for this application.
There is a subtle shimmer to the foil panels in a raking light.
The interior has four adjustable shelves and two pull-out trays.
The cabinet is raised on four tapered legs with exposed mortise and tenon joinery and has a green Dunbar Berne Indiana label.
In addition( see image #3) we have separate listings for a bookcase/ plate stand and a dining table with leather cuffs which were all part of the original dining room suite.
If interested in purchasing the suite we will be happy to offer you a group price.
The last image is of a Dunbar storage cabinet with similar insets of an oil drop faux tortoise foil.
The sideboard is in very good condition. -
