Provenance: Private collection, Cornwall, Connecticut.
This classic, probably coastal Massachusetts, scroll or arched top with a central shaped plinth high chest has finely executed twin fan-carved drawers. The upper case has a pediment surmounted with three turned finials above three short drawers, the central fan-carved, above four graduated long drawers. the lower case is fitted with a waist molding above one long drawer over three short drawers, the central fan-carved. The case has a carved shaped apron with repeating cupid’s bow motifs, joined by graceful cabriole legs ending on truncated pad feet.
