Pair of Danish Empire Oval Pedestal Cabinets
-
Description
A pair of Danish Empire, from Copenhagen, figured crotch mahogany oval pedestal cabinets, circa 1800-1820, each with an oval stepped top above a molded frieze and a single drawer, the bow-fronted cupboard door and a lower drawer raised on a molded base. One cabinet with shelves the other with five bow-fronted mahogany drawers. It is quite unusual to find these cabinets with drawers. The quality of the figured mahogany is exemplary and the way the wood has developed a warm patina is superb.
