Ernesto Hauner
Brazilian
Ernesto Hauner, an Italian-born designer who made Brazil his home, was deeply immersed in the country's vibrant design scene.
His journey began as an apprentice at Studio d´Arte Palma, founded in 1948 by Giancarlo Palanti, Lina Bo Bardi, and Pietro Maria Bardi. This formative experience paved the way for Ernesto's entry into Móveis Artesanal, an esteemed furniture design studio and art shop established by his brother Carlo in 1950. Building on this foundation, Ernesto ventured into his own business in the late 1950s.
In 1960, Ernesto partnered with John de Souza, prompting a rebranding to Mobilinea in 1962. Under Ernesto's leadership, Mobilinea flourished, with him assuming responsibility for the design direction of all their pieces. His contributions to Brazilian design underscore his commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
