'BATIKI', chaiselongue, an insular sofa or sofa islet
-
Description
Chaise Longue 'BATIKI': Named after a far distant south sea island, the sofa is a combination of culture and nature – a 'micro holiday'. It is the idea of an island, or the landscape of an architectural design model. As a sofa it sits one and a half, as a chaise longue just one. Our signature version is done in ocean blue velveteen.
The upholstery craftsmanship of this piece is extraordinary. 'Kohlmaier Manufaktur' was established in 1884 as an upholstery family business. Since then the company has developed into a high-quality furniture producer creating bespoke pieces for architects, interior designers, and private clients. The philosophy is: combine contemporary design with skilled, traditional handcrafting. Profound knowledge of the specifics and the hidden secrets of old and new furniture are the key ingredients for the craftsmanship by brothers Peter and Bernd Kohlmaier. A sophisticated collection of furniture pieces has been developed over the past 10 years in close cooperation with cutting edge Austrian designers.
