Here for your consideration is a very well done floral still life oil on canvas painting by the Yukoslavian/American artist, Marko Yukovic. Signed lower left. Circa 1960. Condition: Good.
Overall measurements in original grey wash wood frame with faint gold highlights 18 by 22 inches.
Biography Marko (Mark) Walker Vukovic
From Yukoslavia, Marko Vukovic, a painter and graphic artist, came to the United States as a young man in 1911, and first settled in New York City. He became a painting instructor in Woodstock, New York in 1959, and lived there as well as in Saugerties, New York in the late 1940s. He studied at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League.
Memberships included the Artists Equity Association, Woodstock Guild of Arts & Crafts, and the Woodstock Art Association.
Exhibition venues were Salons of America, 1922, 1923, 1927, 1928 and 1935; Society of Independent Artists, 1922, 1928, and 1934; Newark Museum, 1930; Whitney Museum of American Art, 1933; Pennsylvania Academy Annual Exhibitions, 1934, 1936 and 1941. -
