Boccara Gallery is a leading international gallery specialized in prestigious modern, antique tapestries, and artistic rugs. Boccara Gallery has one of the most important collections of modern tapestry. It includes the pioneers of modern art and design: Pablo Picasso, Jean Lurcat, Le Corbusier, Fernand Leger, Sonia Delaunay, Vassily Kandinsky and Alexander Calder. For 30 years the Boccara Gallery has never ceased to renew itself by its audacity and its style under the impulse of Didier Marien. Boccara Design also presents the sophisticated furnitures’s collection of French designer Jean-Yves Lanvin. Boccara aims to bring a different art world together: tapestry, sculpture, and painting. Didier Marien has been a precursor in collecting modern tapestries of the 20th century and in discovering artists who are pivotal in art history today (Mathieu Matégot, Marc Saint-Saens, Emile Gilioli, René Perrot). Boccara Gallery participated for more than forty years in many US and international shows including the Miami Palm Beach Antique Show, the Art Los Angeles Fair, Moscow Art Fair, LAPADA etc. The Boccara Fine Art department presents paintings, photography and special attention is given to sculpture, which is one of the gallery owner’s greatest passions. Following one of the guidelines developed by Didier Marien, not only worldwide famous artists such as Wang Keping, André Lanskoy, Léon Zack, Dominique Pollès, Serge Charchoune, Clement Rosenthal, Anton Smith but also emerging artists like Simone Pheuplin, Émile Gilioli and Laurence Bonnel are represented by the gallery. Boccara has been active in the United States for the past 20 years through the opening of its New York gallery located at 63 Madison Avenue from 2000 to 2008. Didier Marien, has thirty years of international experience in the art market and he is a recognized expert and collector in the world of textiles. Didier Marien is also a member of the Chambre Européenne des Experts-Conseil en Oeuvres d’Art (CECOA) and the Confederation Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d’Art (CINOA) and the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers (LAPADA). The Boccara collection has been very successful with collectors and decorators and the gallery has presented them in the most important European and New York shows.
