Description
Attributed to Gillows. Stamped to the seat rail 'GW' possibly for George Wilson, a journeyman recorded as working for Gillows 1802-1804. This chair is of extraordinary quality and is thought to pre-date similar Morgan and Sanders examples by at least five years. The chair retains its original webbing and horse hair stuffing, and although the leather has been replaced, the original distressed leather will be supplied to the purchaser.
