Description
Kingwood furniture is rare. Kingwood is part of the rosewood family and, like the most famous furniture rosewoods, comes from Brazil. It does not grow to great dimension so one seldom sees solid kingwood furniture (it does exist) and is far more often to be used as a veneer. The Pembroke table is veneered lengthwise with kingwood and although the form is fairly simple, the use of kingwood takes the table up a notch. What is great about this table is the fading of the kingwood. Kingwood does not fade easily and does not have great translucence, but when it does, it is wonderful. This table is beautifully faded.
