Bill Curry Design Line nut bookends steel signed California, USA, 1970s. Two textures of finish to the metal. Polished nickel front and back contrasted with a smooth pebbled texture to the sides of the octagon. Real threads. Each weighs 16 lbs. Design Line was based in El Segundo California and was founded by Bill Curry, 1927-1971. By 1969, Curry's reputation had developed to the point that the Los Angeles Times would describe him as "One of California's leading designers". Upon his death, a retrospective of Curry's designs was presented at the Brand Library Art Center in Glendale, California.
