Description
This Hepplewhite style clock has many similarities to other clock cases produced in Cumberland County, particularly those attributed to Carlisle. There is a small group from the region that have pierced fretwork pediments, dentil molding and inlaid decoration. Clearly influenced by Baltimore neoclassical design, these Carlisle versions tend to feature a more delicate scrolled pediment than their Baltimore cousins.
