Description
This is a truly remarkable decorative sideboard from the English Victorian period in the 19th Century. From the estate of John Scott, 3rd Earl of Eldon, this sideboard contains the family coat of arms carved in oak at the very top of the piece. Below this there is a central mirror in the shape of an arch, with two cupboards either side. Below the mirror there is an oak surface, below which there are three drawers and two cupboards. The carvings on the drawers and cupboards depict agricultural and hunting imagery, and the carvings around the edges take the form of vine wreaths.
