          Based in Essex, Massachusetts David Neligan Antiques offers a large inventory of period English & Continental furniture and decorative arts.  
David began his career in New York City at John Fleming Inc. Rare Books, the successor of A.S.W. Rosenbach.   David subsequently spent more than five years in various positions at Christie's East, where he developed an abiding and expert interest in English and European furniture; he continued as a consultant cataloging furniture for Christie's East, and also worked at Provence Antiques at the Carlyle Hotel.  In 1986, David joined Skinner Inc. Auctioneers in Boston where he held the position of Director of English and Continental Furniture and Decorative Arts and where he established both the Oriental Works of Art and the Fine Silver departments.

In 1992, David opened his eponymous antique shop in Essex, Massachusetts.  David works with a wide variety of clients, dealers, collectors, designers, film and television production companies, and museums.  David's experience includes appraising the personal collection of Henry Francis DuPont at Winterthur and the entire collection of antique furniture at Harvard University.  David is a member of the Art & Antique Dealers League of America.
