Description
Fine pair of George III giltwood armchairs, the molded oval backs over shaped arms ending in acanthus leaf and scrolled ends, over fluted apron, standing on turned and fluted legs, the whole in richly burnished water gilding and now upholstered in mushroom suede. In the manner of John Linnell, while the cramp marks on the underside of the seat are often associated with the workshop of Thomas Chippendale.
