Pair of Enormous Armorial Andirons, England Circa 1820
-
Description
Hard to imagine a more ornate pair of andirons. These are brass and made in England, circa 1820. The crowns suggest noble provenance. The andirons have an incense container below the crown to "freshen" the air. Supported by Caryatids, mythological creatures and scrolled feet. The brass is original, the iron bars are later.
