Impressive sculpture by Thomas François Cartier (1879, Marseilles, France - 1943), of a growling lioness.

Thomas François Cartier was a french sculptor and well-known for his animal sculptures. Cartier specialized in big cats like lions and panthers, hunting dogs and decorative objects.
He participated in the Paris Salons from 1904 onwards, where he won the Gold Medal in 1927.
