Mid-Century Modern Polished Chrome & White Granite Cocktail Table by Ron Seff
-
Description
This elegant and sophisticated cocktail table was realized by the legendary designer Ron Seff in the United States, circa 1970. It features an austere form with subtly convex rectilinear legs and a generously apportioned apron in lustrous polished chrome- with a white granite top seamlessly embedded within. With its monochromatic palate and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
Ron Seff (1934-1990) opened his New York City workshop in 1968. Among his early patrons were celebrated designers Mark Hampton, Robert Metzger, and Karl Springer. Throughout the 1970s, Ron Seff worked closely alongside Karl Springer in realizing many pieces for the Springer collection. Seff’s designs were inspired by Art Deco and Bauhaus design as well as Mid Century sculpture- all of these influences- as well as his fastidious attention to detail are evident in this piece.
