Pair of Art Deco Machine Age Streamlined Brass Sconces Signed by Kurt Versen

This stunning pair of Machine Age Art Deco sconces were realized by the esteemed designer Kurt Versen in the United States circa 1935. They features a concave polished brass shade. Versen was born in Sweden, and trained in Germany before emigrating to the United States in 1930. An avid modernist, he participated in four of the major United States design expositions of the 1930’s as well as the 1937 Paris Expo. His designs are included in many museum collections throughout the country including the Brooklyn Museum and the NY Moma. Very good vintage condition.
