Champagne Chairs By Erwine & Estelle For Laverne International - 1959
-
Description
Set of two Mid-Century Modern dining room "Champaign" chairs. Designed in 1957 by Estelle & Erwin Laverne for Formes Nouvelles, USA. Made of smoked-colored molded perspex seat on a polished aluminum base, with brown leather cushion, the chairs swivel comfortably. Inspired by Saarinen's earlier "Tulip" chair, the Champaign is part of the Laverne's "Invisible Group". The slender pedestal base and transparent shell give the design a visual lightness and timeless sophistication. New cushions can be made to the customer's specifications, leather, cloth and color.
