Description
A painted or penwork games box decorated with assorted playing cards on the lid; English, circa 1840-1850. An eight-sided box with oak leaf, acorn and berry decoration along the edges. Four turned wood feet, baize fabric on the very bottom surrounded by ebony edging, papered interior and working lock and key. Wonderful patina.
