A decade meant to blur some of the more rigid lines of the 1980s, sofas and swivels made in the 1990s were meant to look like art when not in use. At the same time, the 1980s demand for luxury persisted. Leisure furniture - like sofas and swivel chairs - became top to bottom swollen plush upholstered pieces.
