    A Remarkable English " Walnut Markatree " Mirror - Looking Glass of Generous Proportions in the Inimitable Fashion of Gerrit Jensen. The Carcass and Secondary Wood Being Mainly Pine Wood Pointing to an English Provenance Rather than the Dutch Oak Method. Mainly Using English Walnut with Ebony Highlights and Other Soft Wood Veneers this Arabesque Design is a Typical Jensen Product of Such Fine Workmanship Therefore Excluding the Possibility of Another Maker.

    Gerrit Jensen who was Born in Holland - Worked in Paris - Settling in London from 1667 - 1715 with Workshops in Londons Longacre and St Martins Lane was Considered the Premier 17th Century Cabinet Maker Specialising in Walnut - Pewter - Metal - Ebony - Coromandel - Brass. His Main Business Being in Veneered Pieces and the Manufacture of Looking Glasses and Plate Glass.
