Authentic 19th Century French Aubusson Handmade Wool Rug
-
Description
This magnificent oldest European carpet comes from the renowned Aubusson weaving center that has produced some of the finest French rugs in the world by combining the Oriental craft with French aesthetic thought. This exceptional piece proudly bears the oval cartouche-like cream field embellished with fine specks within an architectural inner border with a seed-pearl frame, surrounded by a spacious flower-head outer border. The delicate ivory color of the background is complemented with more pronounced yet tasteful chestnut brown shade of the pattern – together they create pure excellence which makes the design look like carved in the finest marble by Phidias chisel instead of being woven with woolen threads. This effect may also be attributed to masterful execution of the finest materials in accordance with centuries-long weaving techniques by a skilled artisan. Due to such meticulous making, this imposing Aubusson rug has survived until this day without any signs of blemish regarding color or structure and is ready to serve its future owners with its creamy pile for generations. This royal composition is perfect for all lovers of palatial chic and timeless elegance. It has a chance to turn an ordinary space into a ballroom of Versailles.Doris Leslie Blau has always tried to bring the charm enclosed in antique rugs, Persian rugs closer to people, closer to you.
