An exceptional object
A quadrangular cut cup in rhodochrosite and the handle made of a seahorse in silver and silver gilt naturally chiselled in the brutalist style. Signed Chaumet Paris.
The House of Chaumet, founded in 1780, is a high-end jeweller based in Paris. Chaumet is a jewellery and watchmaking designer founded in 1780 by Marie-Étienne Nitot. Fourteen artisans ply their trade in the workshop on Place Vendôme under the direction of foreman Pascal Bourdariat. As of 2012, it was owned by LVMH.
Measures: 7" high x 5.5" x 3" deep.
