Description
Pair of superb and elegant Viennese gilded bronze epergne stands or compote holders. The pierced top edge of the bowl is decorated with stylized flower heads and arches, above strapping which is raised on three partially coiled snakes with arrowed tails and open mouths, mounted on a triform base. Each base is incised with the merchants name and address: Carl Hiess Wien Kohlmarkt 12.
