Large 1950s Gunnar Asplund JH-813 metal and glass sconce for ASEA. Executed in black painted and opaline glass with custom period style backplate added for mounting over a standard American j-box. A lyrical and elegant Scandinavian modern design with a sculptural form characteristic of the finest work of the era.
Gunnar Asplund was one of the most innovative Swedish modern lighting designers of the midcentury era. His refined designs have been long sought after by discerning collectors.
Professionally rewired for US electrical. Minor patina, bends, dents, chips and scuffs as largely shown in the images noted only for accuracy. Accommodates a single 100w equivalent standard medium base bulb (lower with incandescent). Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Contact us to facilitate. -
