  • Description
A clock from Hagerstown, Maryland signed on the seatboard, possibly Jacob Dill. Jr, 1799 and inside the case are pencil inscriptions from the Heyser family of Hagerstown. The clock has a nearly identical form and inlays to a MESDA recorded clock from Hagerstown by John Reynolds. The five-dial face displays the phases of the moon, the seconds, minutes, hours, day of the week, month of the year and phase of the moon. The mahogany case has lively pictorial inlays including an eagle and shell surrounded by fans, urns with vines, bellflowers, inlaid rosettes and the original inlaid finial.
