An antique Persian Shiraz rug. Either Khamseh or Qashghai, the two main tribal groups situated around Shiraz city in southern Persia, this large scatter features a graphite field with large hexagonal corner motives enclosing a tall, stretched stepped octagonal subfield displaying rosette and star wreaths around a central device en suite to those of the field corners.
