The original design of this gorgeous pair of Vases is by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Scottish architect, designer and painter. He was an exponent of the so-called Glasgow movement, at least the most prominent exponent of Art Nouveau in the UK.
This item was designed in 1904, then reproduced by Sabattini for Cassina in 1984. Variants with metal uprights have been reconstructed from the design for “Writing Cabinet, Hill House” and other iconographical documentation owned bt the Hunterian Gallery, Mackintosh Collection Glasgow University.
Very good condition, as never used, entirely in Silvered Metal, polish of the surface under request. Presence of the signature as shown in photo.
