Description
This rectangular bamboo basket was made to use for ikebana flower arrangements. Oguni Kimiko made the unique basket with bamboo and rattan, using parallel-line construction and twisting, wrapping, and knotting.
Oguni Kimiko was celebrated as one of Japan’s most promising female bamboo artists before her premature death in 2004 at the age of 57. Her work is in the collection of the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco -
