Description
This elegant Mid-Century Modern rectilinear pendant was produced circa 1960 by the renowned Austrian maker Kinkeldey. Each side features three glass panels (with a total of nine on the bottom) offering a concentric octagonal ziggurat pattern in relief. On each side of the octagonal forms, rays shoot outwards towards the perimeter of each panel creating a sunburst pattern. The various panels are fastened together at the seams with rectangular nickel fittings. Combining Art Deco leitmotifs with the clean lines and austere profile of modernist design, this flush mount is as versatile as it is stunning. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition. The chandelier accommodates four Edison based sockets providing up to 400 watts of light.
