Description
A lovely collection of three framed pre-Columbian textile fragment form Chimu culture (900AD-1470AD) in nowadays Peru circa 13-15th century. The three panels appear to be woven from dyed cotton and all depict birds or bird-like forms in various designs and presented in different wood frames. Two are panels with tassels suggesting that they may be fragment from a garment or shawl.
Bird motif was one of the most popular symbols found in textiles in Chimu and Chancay cultures.
The respective size crosswise is 20" x 8.5 x 1", 12.5" x 4" x1" and 14,5" x 11.5" x 1.5". The listed size is for packaging purpose. -
