Giuseppe Gibelli, Set of six 'Elisabetta' chairs in natural ash, Italy, 1961

Description
Giuseppe Gibelli, set of six 'Elisabetta' chairs.
The model, designed in 1961, was initially made by Fratelli Maspero in Mariano Comense in natural beech. Starting from 1963 the production passed to Sormani, who also experimented with the use of alternative woods, such as rosewood.
The apparently simple line of the chair is embellished with curved details both at the seat and at the back, revealing great creative ingenuity and manufacturing expertise. -
