Azza Al Qubaisi

Azza Al Qubaisi is a Emirati artist, writer and researcher. She was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in 1979. She has a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from Zayed University in Abu Dhabi and a Master's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Oxford.
Al Qubaisi's work explores themes such as identity, culture, and gender through various mediums including painting, drawing, and sculpture. She often draws inspiration from her own experiences growing up in the UAE and from her research into the country's history and cultural heritage.
Al Qubaisi has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in the UAE and internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, the British Museum, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. In addition to her artistic practice, she has also published several books on Emirati art and culture, and is a regular contributor to art publications and journals.
